Our Backyard Flock: The Start of Cluck N’ Quack Chronicles

Hi there, and welcome to Cluck N’ Quack Chronicles!
I’m so glad you’ve stopped by. If you’re here, you probably share the same curiosity (or obsession) with backyard poultry that I do. This blog is where I’ll be sharing the ups, downs, and everything in between as I learn and grow alongside my flock.
I started this journey back in March of 2024, when I brought home my very first batch of baby chicks. I didn’t know it then, but that handful of fluffy little dinosaurs would completely change my daily life. What began as just a small flock of 8–10 chickens quickly grew into something so much bigger.
Over the past year, I’ve added more birds, built better housing, and learned a lot—sometimes the hard way. From building a coop in our converted barn to navigating the drama of too many roosters (we had to rehome a few extra characters), each step has been a lesson.
Fast forward to today, and my little hobby has turned into a full-blown flock: 46 chickens and 9 ducks, all happily sharing the same space. With a few unavoidable bumps in the road, they’ve remained healthy, productive, and full of personality.
I started Cluck N’ Quack Chronicles because I wanted a place to share what I’ve learned, show you behind the scenes of life with these birds, and hopefully inspire or help other chicken and duck keepers. Here, you’ll find:
- Stories about the day-to-day adventures (and occasional chaos)
- Tips for caring for chickens and ducks
- DIY projects for coops and flock management
- Resources I wish I’d had when I first started
Whether you’re dreaming of your own backyard flock, already caring for one, or just here to see some cute photos, you’re welcome here.
Thanks for joining me on this feathered adventure. There’s a lot more to come—so stay tuned!
